The Caves of Vallorbe

Within 17 minutes of the hotel, Orbe’s underground river has shaped one of the most fascinating and beautiful natural wonders in the region. With its surprising concretion areas, the Caves of Vallorbe offer an impressive sight, revealing mineral beauty and dazzling daylight. From now on, no need to be a potholer to admire stalactites, stalagmites, waterfalls and underground lakes. In the open air, hikers will discover another natural wonder : the Gorges of the Orbe, especially the Saut du Day (« Day Jumping spot »). The city of Vallorbe also houses the impressive and instructive Iron and Railroad Museum, which, through old images and trains, illustrates the blacksmiths’ work throughout the last 5 centuries. Built on a mountain slope, the Fort of Pré-Giroud 39-45 invites visitors to experience the military conditions of World War II. Attracting more and more wild life lovers, the Juraparc sould not be missed. In a natural setting, brown bears, wolves and bisons can be observed. Last but not least, within 5 minutes of Vallorbe, in the French Haut-Doubs, the Metabief ski resort offers numerous activities (Alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, etc.)
